Here comes the fear,
All over the news,
At work, at home,
In checkout queues. 

Unseen virus,
Infectious disease. 
Global pandemic 
Of restless unease. 

Social distancing. 
Self isolation. 
New terms coined
In every nation. 

There will be losses,
Heartache and tears. 
There will be many 
Facing their fears. 

There will be kindness
And stupid mistakes. 
There will be heroes,
There will be fakes. 

It won’t be easy,
But it will end. 
Have faith, have hope
